Demigods

Out With The Old & In With The New

Here's the setup...

Four years ago, the Great Prophecy was fulfilled. It took around seventy-five years to come to pass, and it caused a great many problems. It led to a pact between Hades, Zeus, and Poseidon to have no more children. A pact that was broken by both Zeus and Poseidon. With the fulfillment of the Great Prophecy, the pact was ended, and a new age begun at Camp Half-Blood.

Minor gods who had previously been ignored, were now shown some measure of respect. Cabins were built for the minor gods as the camp dealt with an influx of new campers. Demigods who had previously been left to fend for themselves, now had a place to call home. Most minor demigods are year round campers, having little family to return to in the winter break.

During the second Titan War, many minor demigods chose to side with the titans, and in some cases, their parents. The minor gods and titans sought to destroy Olympus, but in the end they did not prevail. Though many combatants were children, there was little mercy shown on the New York battle field. The Olympian army was known to take a few prisoners and spare lives at the command of Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon , but the Titan army did not.

Some number of prisoners were brought back to Camp Half-Blood and kept there under supervision. Most were released within a year or two, free to come and go as the other campers were. Those that had difficulty adjusting were kept year round.

The gods, now required by oath to claim their offspring by age 13, did so (more or less). There was a staggering influx of new campers within the first three years that kept all of the Satyrs busy bringing them in. The number of unclaimed children was so great that now, the senior campers were needed as well to help bring in new demigods. Still others managed to find the camp on their own, often leaving behind them families slaughtered by monsters.

This year marks the first year that the Oracle will be residing at camp year round, aside from the occasional family trip, and all of the campers are excited to learn new prophecies. Many want a chance to prove themselves heroes, but few get that chance.
